World of Roofs -- Heartfelt Painting

Author: Meng Meng

Publish Date: 2003-06-01
Features: This book is a collection of comics. Meng Meng's artwork includes various styles, and what I'm referring to is his character sketches. The extremely rich transformations and exaggerated imagination are simply heavenly, leaving one in awe. However, his compositions and lines are highly skilled, very expressive. It's hard to imagine they came from an untrained hand. They possess both a childlike innocence and a sense of realism. It is a magical form of expressive art, yet it also contains elements of realistic reproduction. A stroke of genius! At the age of eight, Meng Meng won the Shanghai Guinness "Young Student with the Most Character Portraits" award. If it weren't for witnessing Meng Meng at work, one would hardly believe these drawings could have been created by an eight-year-old child.
