Features: This is a children's poetry collection by Zhang Huicun. As a mother, a primary school teacher, a poet, and an artist, she embodies four roles, giving her a unique advantage in writing children's poetry. The love of motherhood, the earnest guidance of a teacher, and the aesthetic refinement of poetry and painting blend into an abundant, pure, warm, and gentle heart. With such a heart and such eyes, she plucks a string of dreamlike flowers that naturally draw close to the sky of children's souls; she distills a dewdrop that naturally reflects the stars of childhood. Her children's poetry can be said to be a genuine writing, an authentic writing. The inspiration for her writing comes from nature, flowing effortlessly, as if picked up at random. For example, in "Pencil Tree":
"Whenever it stands on the drawing line,
It dances a joyful dance.
Dance, dance,
Flowers appear,
Nodding at me.
Grass grows out,
Waving to me.
Birds come,
Telling me the news of spring.
And the little stars?
Winking at me.
It shouts to me,
‘We are colorful pens dancing us into being.’"
This is naturally plucked from her daughter's brushwork. The four identities she embodies create a rich writing resource, giving Huicun's children's poetry multiple layers of meaning: the language is simple,, clear, and melodious, unadorned and natural; the imagination is fresh, and the feelings are delicate. The poetry is filled with pictures, and the pictures are filled with poetry, with vivid colors, bright lines, and naive compositions, yet with a unique charm. The scene and emotion are intertwined, brimming with childlike humor, and close to the comprehension level of young readers. Overall, the style is pure as morning dew, filled with the fragrance of sunlight, radiant and effortless, with a texture like pearls falling on jade.
