Features: Chinese opera is a splendid treasure in the artistic treasury of the Chinese nation. It is a distinctive form of expression that has evolved over a long period of time in the development and transformation of China's national traditional culture, and has become a comprehensive art that integrates and intersects various disciplines of art. Stage design in Chinese opera is an indispensable component of the comprehensive art of national drama. It not only carries the maternal genes of cultural continuity but also possesses the inherent quality of creativity that opens up new eras. The new art education system, which is implemented through schools rather than the traditional master-apprentice teaching method, originated in China during the late Qing Dynasty with the establishment of modern schools. The National Beiping Art School, established in 1918 during the Republic of China period, can be regarded as a milestone in the development of specialized art education in China. By 1927, with the establishment of the Art Academy in Hangzhou and the National Music Academy in Shanghai in 1928, specialized art education in China began to take shape. However, in the first half of the 20th century, the development of specialized art education in China remained a challenging journey. A group of pioneering scholars and educators, such as Cai Yuanpei, Xiao Youmei, Lin Fengmian, Ouyang Yuqian, Xiao Changhua, and Dai Ailian, toiled through hardship, perseverance, and self-sacrifice to establish specialized education in fields such as music, fine arts, drama, opera, and dance.
