Features: Zhu Shu Jing Nian is a historical text written on bamboo slips during the Warring States period by the State of Wei, possessing unique historical value. The original slips have long been lost, with those reconstructed by later compilers referred to as the modern edition, while those compiled from ancient texts are called the ancient edition. This book presents a collation and study of the ancient edition, accompanied by Wang Guowei's Annotations and Explanations of the Modern Edition of Zhu Shu Jing Nian. The revised edition is based on the 1981 version published by this press, annotated by Fang Shiming. Zhu Shu Jing Nian is a historical text of the State of Wei from the Warring States period. It was unearthed in a tomb in Jiyuan County (located in the southwest of present-day Jiyuan County, Henan Province) in the second year of the Taikang era (281 AD) during the reign of Emperor Wu of Jin. This text was written on bamboo slips and was known as Zhu Shu; due to its chronological arrangement, it was also called Jing Nian. At times, it was prefixed with the site of discovery, referred to as Jizong Zhu Shu or Jizong Jing Nian. It is generally called Zhu Shu Jing Nian. The tomb yielded a collection of ancient texts, with Zhu Shu Jing Nian being just one of them. The original Zhu Shu Jing Nian consisted of thirteen chapters, narrating the histories of the Xia, Shang, Western Zhou, Spring and Autumn, and Warring States periods. After the reign of King You of Zhou, it used the chronology of the State of Jin; after the three families divided Jin, it used the chronology of the State of Wei, continuing until the 20th year of King Xiang of Wei (299 BC).
