How is prostatitis caused?

Patient's question:

These past few days, every time I urinate, I can feel pain in my urethra. Besides a slight sensation of urgency and incomplete urination, I initially thought it was urethritis. Then I went to the hospital for a thorough examination, and the results showed that my prostate is inflamed. I live here. What should I do about prostatitis?

Doctor's answer:

If it is an acute recurrence of prostatitis, the treatment is based on antibiotic therapy. Before deciding on the antibiotic, it may be considered to conduct bacterial culture to identify which type of sensitive bacteria it is, and then determine a more sensitive antibiotic for oral or intravenous administration, which would be more effective. Clinically, tetracyclines are commonly used, except for quinolones. If the chosen antibiotic is not sufficiently sensitive, the effect will be relatively poor, or even ineffective.
