How to Relieve Pain from Balanitis

Patient's question:

A month ago, I developed red yeast. After using Terbinafine Ketoconazole Cream, the pain intensified continuously. Can I switch to Daktarin, or use the cream for treatment, or try another cream? Currently, I am also taking Fluconazole tablets orally every day. It has been a month and it hasn't healed yet. The is normal, with no itching, just occasional episodes of pain that last for about three seconds and then disappear, recurring after a period of time.

Doctor's answer:

It might be caused by long-term inflammation. In this case, dietary restrictions are necessary, and it's best to avoid spicy and irritating foods. Drink plenty of warm water, soak and wash with potassium permanganate or Sophora flavescens solution for 10 minutes every night, and then apply ointment. Patience is required for a complete recovery. For patients with balanitis, timely treatment can reduce the recurrence. If left untreated, it may affect overall health. Therefore, patients should take medication promptly and avoid overexertion in daily life.
