Features: The purpose of writing this book is to promote the design experience of post-disaster reconstruction across the country. In subsequent discussions, we decided that the book should not only include the content of post-disaster reconstruction but also continuously expand its sources of information, obtaining first-hand materials from the design sites of the Kansai Regional Office to introduce the new achievements of the office in design in a direct manner. Based on the "Theory of Norms," the book is composed of three parts: fundamental concepts of design and planning, design techniques for collective residential areas, and introductions to recent characteristic project cases. We sincerely hope that they will be helpful to the broad public concerned with "housing construction and urban construction" in large cities, and that they will serve as material for discussion and a catalyst for research. Additionally, many new topics and rich examples of "housing construction and urban construction" in this book can also be used as substitute textbooks for universities and colleges. Of course, all content discussed in the book is fully responsible for by this research group.
