Features: The commemorative event was originally planned to be jointly organized by the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Committee of the Party History Research Office. However, due to the sudden outbreak of the "SARS" epidemic in Guangdong and some provinces and cities between spring and summer, the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to change the originally planned commemorative conference into a symposium and the originally planned national academic seminar into a provincial academic seminar. A total of 69 papers were received for this conference. Except for one paper from Shanghai, the rest were submitted by organizations such as the Party History Research Office, universities and colleges, Party schools, cultural and museum institutions, military units, and social science research departments in Guangdong. After the conference, the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China History Research Office, the Guangdong Central Committee of the Party History Society, and the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China History Research Office organized editors to select and compile the received papers. A total of 47 papers were selected and compiled into this collection. Although some papers were of high quality, they were not included in this collection because they had already been published in journals.
