Features: Who do you turn to when you want to know if a business school is right for you? Open this book, and you've found your most reliable guide. Now you are reading the bible for MBA students and industry professionals—the MBA Education Guide (Sixth Edition), which is also the most comprehensive edition. Thousands of applicants have referred to this book (previous editions) for detailed and accurate introductions and in-depth analyses of top business schools. Deans of business schools and corporate recruiters also use this guide as a reference to assess whether their vision and strategies are appropriate. To compile this book, Business Week magazine collected tens of thousands of survey responses from MBA students and corporate recruiters about the newest rankings of business schools, serving as primary data for the rankings. This is just the preliminary work; the next step involved reviewing thousands of current MBA students, alumni, corporate recruiters, faculty members, and deans of business schools to gain a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of top business schools. The result of all this hard work is this book. Compared to other similar books, it contains more information and offers more in-depth rational analysis, making it a rare and valuable guide for applying to top business schools. This guide is the result of Business Week magazine's best business school rankings, conducted every two years. This ranking was pioneered by Johna. Byrne, senior editor of Business Week, in 1988. Since then, Business Week has made business management education a key and highly focused topic in its reporting. Now, this project has expanded beyond print publications, with a rich website dedicated to covering the best business schools. The website features detailed information on 61 business schools surveyed by Business Week in 1999, including reference data, links to each school's website, and transcripts of interviews with dozens of students. It also includes introductions to an additional 150 business schools not included in the rankings, categorized by region. The website also provides a comparison chart to calculate the investment return of each MBA program, helping you understand the actual cost, as well as transcripts of interviews with students from the best business schools. Visitors can also download records of online meetings with admissions and career center staff, read the school newspaper of current MBA students, and post questions on the bulletin board on various topics, waiting for responses from Business Week staff or other visitors to the site. The website can be accessed at www.businessweek.com/bschool/ or via AOL using the keyword bw. The authors of the sixth edition of this guide are Cynthia Green and Jennifer Reingold, the managing editor of Business Week's management section. Mr. Green is a freelance writer based in Philadelphia who previously worked as an editor at Business Week and co-authored the Best Executive Education Guide published by Business Week in 1993. Ms. Reingold is based in New York and is responsible for reporting on management education at Business Week, led the 1998 review project for business school rankings, and also served as the editor for the special report on corporate executive education in 1997. This book follows the format established by Byrne, the author of the first five editions of the Business Week business school rankings, which were launched in 1988. Other contributors to this book include: Nadine Venbar, a reporter for Business Week Online, who wrote Chapter 2; Loribongiorno, a former Business Week editor, freelance writer, and author, who wrote introductions to some business schools; Halah Bal, an intern at Business Week, who wrote the international section; Sarah Leitch, another intern, who participated in the ranking review research and provided valuable assistance in improving survey response rates; Judy Crown, who again served as the head of statistical analysis for the book and provided valuable survey analysis; Wendy Hernandez, who sent out tens of thousands of surveys and coordinated all the work; James Kutz, who designed the database; Arthur-Eves, Matthew Kopit, and Cam Bria Consulting, who developed the online portion of the management review; and Mark Morrison, the managing editor, who oversaw this project. This book, written exclusively for young people in the U.S. who aspire to pursue an MBA, provides a comprehensive introduction to 50 truly authoritative top business schools in the U.S. and 3 renowned business schools in France, Italy, and the U.K. It includes details such as addresses, enrollment capacity, tuition fees, teaching methods, facilities, curriculum, faculty, campus environment, extracurricular activities, application requirements, application deadlines, post-graduation employment, and graduate evaluations. It has been reprinted six times and is hailed as the "bible" for MBA applicants. This is the first time it has been launched in China. Suitable for high school graduates, college students and graduates, and parents who wish to send their children abroad for further studies.
