Patient's question:
Last May, I was diagnosed with a testicular condition and underwent treatment for a period, which has now fully healed. After that, I noticed that one of them seemed slightly larger on the right. I was wondering if this could be a problem? Also, where are the testicles located in the human body?Doctor's answer:
Speculation; In normal individuals, the testicles on both sides are not equally sized. According to statistics, the right side is slightly larger than the left, and the right side is lower than the left. As long as the size of both sides is within the normal range, it will never interfere with fertility. If the testicles have always been symmetrical on both sides and suddenly one side shows significant reduction accompanied by local pain, it may be testicular inflammation or epididymitis. Most cases of testicular asymmetry are caused by diseases such as hydrocele, testicular tumor, or epididymal tuberculosis.Recommendation: It is best to have a follow-up check to see if the testicular inflammation has resolved on its own. If it has not resolved, active treatment is necessary to prevent interference with future fertility.
