Based on an examination of the word collection in Erya and the determination of synonym standards, the book conducts an in-depth study of the formation and composition of synonyms in Erya. It comprehensively examines the synonym situations in each section of Erya and explores the differentiation methods of synonyms in Erya through three sets of synonym analyses. When examining the synonyms in each section of Erya, the focus varies: for Shi Gu, emphasis is placed on analyzing from the perspective of combining part of speech and semantics; for Shi Yan, research is conducted from the perspectives of part of speech, phonetics, and dialects; for Shi Xun, the relationships between synonyms and non-synonyms within it are examined; for the last sixteen sections, analysis is conducted from two perspectives: general synonyms and distinguishing synonyms, as well as variant terms and general synonyms. The appendix lists all synonyms in Erya in a tabular form.
