How to deal with poor sperm quality due to a head of the epididymis cyst

Patient's question:

Previously, due to poor sperm quality, I took medication for a year, including drugs like sperm production tablets and vitamin E.

Doctor's answer:

An epididymal head cyst is a benign inflammatory condition of the epididymis. Most patients do not experience any discomfort, and the cysts are usually discovered during routine health check-ups through careful ultrasound examinations. If the cyst is small, no special treatment is required. Most cysts are caused by infections or traumatic injuries. Since the cyst contains sperm, it is also referred to as a seminal cyst. It does not affect the patient's sperm quality and generally does not interfere with fertility. It is recommended to rest more, as the persistent reduction of the cyst may exert pressure on the epididymis and testes, leading to a sensation of swelling and pain in the scrotum. In such cases, cyst aspiration treatment or surgical removal of the cyst can be performed.
After surgery, the wound typically heals within 3 to 5 days. Post-surgery, it is advisable to follow a light diet and avoid spicy foods.
