Features: To help a broad readership understand the specific content and judicial application of China's laws, we invited experts and scholars from the National People's Congress Standing Committee's Legal Affairs Commission, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Peking University, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law, among other institutions, to jointly author this series, "New Edition of Common Laws for the New Century." Following the order of legal articles, this series comprehensively explains the legislative intent and specific application of each article through three main parts: keyword definitions, interpretation and application, and cases and analysis. This is to prevent disagreements in application. In the "Interpretation and Application" section, the content and application of the article are elaborated on specifically. In the "Cases and Analysis" section, selected cases related to the article are reviewed to deepen understanding. This series focuses on reflecting China's recent mature theories and judicial practices. All content is aligned with the latest laws, regulations, rules, and judicial interpretations, and amendments to relevant laws are clearly stated in the corresponding sections. Additionally, we will update the series promptly based on newly promulgated laws to ensure readers receive the most current information. When this series was published, we had just entered the 21st century. We dedicate this book to our great motherland, to our great era, and to those who have contributed to the development of China's legal system.
