Features: From the perspective of his literary career, he was one of the founders of the important literary society in modern Chinese literature—Creador Society. The long《》 was written by him. Zhang Ziping wrote a total of twenty-four long novels, seven short story collections, and several translated works. In the 1920s and 1930s, as the pioneer of the famous "New Shanghai School" literary figures, he once led the trend and gained widespread popularity in the era of cultural commercialization, attracting numerous young readers. His romance novels became a notable cultural phenomenon in Shanghai literature. However, he ultimately could not resist the great temptation of commercial culture and was ruthlessly swallowed by the hustle and bustle of the world. After being "cut down" by the Shanghai Daily, he fell into a decline. From the perspective of his political career, although he was a graduate of the Graduate School of Science at Tokyo Imperial University, he came from a poor background, lacked political connections, and had no skill in maneuvering. He had a penchant for speculation but lacked the courage for adventure, even feeling ashamed of himself for not being a skilled player in the political arena. Yet, he could not resist the urge of a life and successively served as a second lieutenant in the political department of the Northern Expedition Army and a member of the central leadership of the "Third Party." Eventually, he was unwillingly drawn into the mysterious "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere Movement," and then lured into the shamefully infamous Wang Jingwei government, becoming entangled in the murky political whirlpool and suffering a catastrophic fate, ending his political career with a deeply dishonorable mark.
