How to know if it is varicocele

Patient's question:

In a few days, I'm going for a military health check-up. I'm told that varicocele prevents me from joining the army. Is this really varicocele? I don't feel anything.

Doctor's answer:

The spermatic cord is a soft, round bundle of tissues located between the upper part of the testicle and the inguinal canal, and it is not visible on the surface of the body. The photo you uploaded shows the scrotum, which has the characteristics of being easily contractible and movable. When the scrotum contracts, the blood vessels on its surface appear twisted. Varicocele can be relieved, but the treatment usually takes a long time, and it is prone to recurrence after treatment. Therefore, medication must be used symptomatically during treatment. Additionally, patients should avoid prolonged sitting or riding.
