Features: The term "Chinese Style" refers to artworks designed to evoke Eastern aesthetics. In most cases, these designs are not based on actual Chinese artifacts, exhibiting a strong sense of fantasy and exoticism. Content inspired by Chinese themes has been popular in the West on several occasions, but the "Chinese Style" has permeated all artistic fields. Boucher was one of the key figures driving this trend. Boucher, a French painter, was one of the masters of Rococo art. The light and playful style of Rococo was the dominant trend in 18th-century art. In addition to his sensual depictions of nymphs and goddesses, Boucher was also active in other artistic fields such as tapestry design, ceramic design, and stage design. All of this reflects a sense of luxury and elegance, which can be seen as a of the lavish days of the French Old Regime. Several breathtakingly magnificent paintings in Boucher's works were created with the support of Madame de Pompadour, Louis XV's mistress. However, many people considered Boucher's close relationship with court figures to be a sign of decline and decadence, which also contributed to the lowered evaluation of his works later on.
