Is prostatitis just an easily treatable inflammation?

Patient's question:

I have a history of sexual activity, and the situation has reoccurred now. It suddenly appeared today. When straining during a bowel movement, white sticky fluid flows from the penis, followed by pain in the testicles. Sometimes it feels better, but at other times it still hurts, accompanied by lower back pain, fatigue, and overall weakness. I underwent a thorough examination, and it was diagnosed as prostatitis.

Doctor's answer:

Inflammation of the prostate tissue refers to acute and chronic inflammation caused by specific and non-specific infections of the prostate. Recurrence is associated with factors such as season, diet, sexual activity, urogenital tract inflammation, benign prostatic hyperplasia or lower urinary tract syndrome, occupation, socioeconomic status, and psychological factors. The main manifestations of acute bacterial infection are abrupt onset, chills, high fever, accompanied by persistent and significant lower urinary tract infection symptoms, such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria. Chronic bacterial infection is characterized by recurrent lower urinary tract infection symptoms. In contrast, chronic prostatitis primarily manifests as pelvic area pain, commonly occurring in the perineum, perianal region, urethra, and other areas. Urinary symptoms may include urgency, frequency, dysuria, and increased nocturia.
