Features: Letter, as a tool for exchanging ideas, is a widely used genre in daily life. This genre has long been established through convention, forming fixed formats. It generally includes five parts: salutation, body, closing, signature, and date. Writing a letter requires correct format, accurate salutation, and clear body.
1. Correct format. The salutation should be written flush left, followed by a colon. The body should start on a new line with two spaces indentation. If the body is divided into paragraphs, each paragraph should also begin with two spaces indentation.
2. Accurate salutation. At the beginning of the letter, write the salutation first. Use the same address as you would in daily life when addressing the recipient.
3. Clear body. The body must clearly state what you want to communicate to the recipient. A letter should be well-organized, not disorganized or confusing, leaving the reader unsure of what to say. If there are many things to discuss, write them one by one in separate paragraphs. Generally, important matters should be written first.
