These thirteen courses are all compulsory courses for students in higher traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities, as well as essential courses for the higher traditional Chinese medicine self-study examination. To help students in higher traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities learn these courses well, especially to assist a wide range of people across the country who are participating in diploma examinations, professional title promotion examinations, and qualification examinations in higher traditional Chinese medicine self-study, to learn these compulsory courses and pass the national examinations smoothly, as well as foreign students who are learning these courses, we have organized experts and professors from institutions such as Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to write this series of higher traditional Chinese medicine teaching and examination assistance books. This book has the following features: (1) To highlight key points and facilitate self-study, each chapter in this book divides the content into three levels of requirements in the [Purpose and Requirements], namely mastering, familiarizing, and understanding, to help students distinguish the main and secondary points. (2) To unify scientific and technical terminology and align with international standards, the medical terms in this book strictly follow the "Terminology of Physiology" and "Medical Terminology" published by the National Natural Science Terminology Commission. The units of measurement comply with the legal units ("Application of Legal Units in Medicine," People's Military Medical Press, published in 1987). To allow students a transition period for adaptation, the old units of measurement are retained in parentheses. (3) In the writing process, we strive to make the content easy to understand and facilitate self-study, with the addition of some tables and figures. In terms of content, in addition to paying attention to scientific accuracy, we also strengthen the practicality and applicability, emphasizing the connection between theory and clinical application practice.
