Purpose of Publication: For believers, it aims to center on Christ and inspire eternal hope in His return; for a broader audience outside the faith, it serves as a gospel witness, prompting deep reflection on life and values.
Synopsis: Based on the Book of Revelation and biblical end-times passages, the novel tells the story of millions vanishing suddenly around the world, leaving behind those who face persecution from the Antichrist, as well as wars and natural disasters. The four main characters meet while investigating the truth, convert to Christianity, vow to reveal it, and plan to overthrow the cunning Antichrist.
Drawing on the author's personal interpretation of the Bible's Revelation, the novel blends the romance of literary fiction, the grandeur of science fiction, the suspense of mystery, and the tension of thriller novels, showcasing human struggles, spiritual growth, and the search for faith. It reflects on the fate of human history and modern civilization, "worrying about the world before others worry." It demonstrates resilience beyond suffering and a vision beyond human limitations. As many critics have praised: This is an unforgettable masterpiece that combines literary merit, entertainment, and depth.
The author's eschatology: The authors adhere to Premillennial Dispensationalism, interpreting Revelation and biblical "prophecies" literally, believing that true believers will be raptured before disasters, and that the Antichrist will emerge as a political and religious leader. The end times will bring great tribulation, Israel will sign a peace treaty with the Antichrist, who will break it after three and a half years, leading to Israel being besieged by nations and prompting the Jewish people to turn to Jesus.
Recommendation: Leftbehind became a publishing legend upon its release. The original title, Leftbehind, became a U.S. bestseller, followed by Tribulation Force, Nicolae, and others, all setting sales records and inspiring many Americans to rededicate their lives and return to the church. After reading it, I truly reflected on whether I would be raptured or left behind when Jesus returns, and how I should prepare myself to wait for His coming. Additionally, I wondered how much time my family and friends have left to come to know the salvation of Jesus. I really need to cherish my life, because the day of the Lord's return is truly near. – Liang Xiaoling
