Features: The clinical application of drugs, if used appropriately, can produce good or even remarkable effects. However, if used improperly, they may not only delay treatment but also cause unintended adverse reactions. Therefore, Dr. Tang Yuhàn, the donor and honorary president of Ningbo University Hospital, repeatedly proposed the idea of compiling a handbook or guide on the clinical application of drugs from the very beginning of the hospital's establishment, aiming to guide clinicians in the correct use of medications. This initiative was strongly supported by Professor Zheng Xiufeng, a part-time pharmacology expert at our college, who, in collaboration with Professor Jiao Xiaolan at our institution, served as the editor-in-chief of this book. Professor Zheng also actively organized and invited experts such as Professor Geng Baoqin, Professor Wei Erqing, and Professor Fang Liben from the Medical College of Zhejiang University to participate. These professors possess extensive pharmacological knowledge and practical experience, and their contributions undoubtedly enhance the value of this book. The book consists of fifteen chapters, with drugs organized by disease systems, differing from previous drug manuals that were categorized differently. Each drug is described in four parts: mechanism and indications, usage, precautions, and formulations. The mechanism section concisely introduces pharmacological effects and clinically relevant pharmacokinetic characteristics. The book selects over 1,900 drugs that are proven effective and commonly used in domestic hospitals, including new drugs, and is divided into fifteen chapters, covering most of the drugs commonly used in clinical departments. When introducing specific drugs, the book discusses their mechanism and indications, usage, precautions, and formulations. This book is characterized by its rich, up-to-date content, broad applicability, strong practicality, and convenient reference.
