Why do people get prostatitis?

Patient's question:

My husband didn't have prostatitis when he was young. He only discovered it in the past two years. At first, I suspected he was having an affair, but he denied it. Now, he just has a longer time during intimacy, and he also experiences frequent urination.

Doctor's answer:

Prostatitis is a common disease in urology, accounting for the second-highest incidence among male patients around the age of 50 in urology. Prostatitis is divided into four categories and five types: acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, chronic pelvic pain syndrome (inflammatory and non-inflammatory), and asymptomatic prostatitis. The cultivation of prostatic fluid to detect known urinary tract sepsis pathogens is the basis for determining antibiotic treatment. If rare pathogens or commensal bacteria of the urogenital tract are found, they cannot be confirmed as sepsis pathogens.
