What are the general symptoms of prostatitis?

Patient's question:

I have been experiencing frequent urination recently, with a sense of pain during urination, along with white foreign bodies. The color of my urine is quite cloudy, and I also feel discomfort when defecating. I haven't gone for a follow-up yet and would like to understand the symptoms of prostatitis.

Doctor's answer:

There are symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, dysuria, urethral burning, incomplete urination sometimes with dribbling, and difficulty urinating, as well as nocturia. Frequent urination is a typical symptom of prostatitis, but it can also be caused by conditions like cystitis or nervous tension. Urethral discharge: At the end of urination or during a bowel movement, white secretions may drip from the urethral opening. Regarding pain: Due to persistent chronic inflammation, severe tenderness and a sense of fullness or heaviness may occur in areas such as the perineum, anus, and scrotum. This pain can often radiate to the upper pubic bone, lumbar-sacral region, both inguinal regions, and the perineum, and may also cause lower limb pain. Symptoms are generally more pronounced in the morning.
