What are the hazards of prostatic cysts?

Patient's question:

During a health check, it was found that there is a prostatic cyst, 1.82cm. It did not appear in the thorough examination last year, but I do not have symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, or difficulty urinating. I also do not have sleep disturbances during the night, and urination is normal. However, I have a habit of sexual intercourse, which has been going on for several years, about two to three times a week.

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic Cyst The prostate gland is obstructed during embryonic development, leading to the narrowing of prostatic ducts, causing blockage, and the gradual accumulation of content to form a cyst, hence the term "retention prostatic cyst." Congenital cysts are caused by the rigidity of the prostatic stroma, resulting in incomplete or intermittent obstruction of the acini, gradually thickening the acinar epithelium, ultimately leading to the formation of retention cysts. These can be located anywhere within the prostate or weakly at the neck of the bladder, with a diameter of 1-2 cm. Inflammatory cysts are formed due to chronic prostatic inflammation causing fibrosis of connective tissue, narrowing of the prostatic ducts, and retention of secretions to form cysts.
