Patient's question:
Abdominal bloating, very severe and uncomfortable. At first, I thought it was a kidney issue, so I went to the urology department. Later, I had a thorough check-up and found that I have bilateral solid kidneys, 33mm. Urine tests were normal. The seven renal function tests showed high uric acid and slightly elevated creatinine. Later, for some unknown reason, I felt discomfort in the lower abdomen with a sense of intestinal bloating and a bit of pain. After three days of sleep, it disappeared without any pain. Sometimes it reappears! I then started to notice that my sexual function was declining. I felt that the penis had lost sensation and excitement, and it was very difficult to get an erection. Sometimes I felt that it didn’t even get erect. Later, the abdominal bloating gradually subsided. Now, there is no more abdominal bloating! But I feel that there must be a problem with my abdomen that is affecting my sexual function. I have also seen a doctor for...Doctor's answer:
Based on your careful examination results, your current symptoms are not very closely related to your kidneys. Pain caused by the kidneys is generally felt on one or both sides of the waist or back, commonly as a dull ache, excluding infection or stones. It is generally never associated with abdominal pain. Additionally, according to your urinalysis, the possibility of a urinary tract infection can be ruled out. Prostate issues cannot be ruled out, and this can be determined from the results of your ultrasound (usually, a urological ultrasound will include a description of the prostate—if possible, please list it). After ruling out these conditions, attention should be paid to digestive issues, such as whether your bowel movements are regular. Furthermore, the kidneys can, to some extent, affect sexual function, but based on your age, this impact is generally not significant.
