Features: This book compiles classic examples of SQL Server database development, including SQL Server 2000 development knowledge, common techniques for SQL Server development, creating high-performance SQL Server 2000 applications, and a three-tier inventory management system. It is suitable for technical personnel using SQL Server for database application development and readers interested in related technologies. The book first introduces the knowledge of SQL Server development, summarizes common techniques, then focuses on SQL Server optimization knowledge, guiding readers on how to fully leverage the performance of SQL Server. Finally, it uses practical systems developed in multiple different languages as examples to detail the process of developing database applications in SQL Server in various environments, including a three-tier inventory management system (Visual Basic), an online book sales system (ASP), a news publishing system (ASP.NET), and an online bookstore (JSP). The book progresses layer by layer, from the knowledge of SQL Server development to refined practical techniques, from optimization techniques to engineering projects, with increasing difficulty. Most of the SQL Server optimization techniques in the book are derived from the experience summaries of industry developers and Microsoft engineer technical documents. The following examples are all from real projects and have very high practical value. At the same time, the book breaks the limitation of only discussing programming techniques without development ideas, permeating software engineering principles throughout. Through the development of each system, it aims to provide readers with some software design concepts, striving to help them see the essence of software development beyond the programming language. In addition to giving fish, it also gives the fishing rod. The content on the book's CD includes source files and multimedia demonstration files of the examples in the book. This book is suitable for technical personnel using SQL Server for database application development and readers interested in related technologies, as well as readers with certain programming abilities who want to learn and expand their horizons.
