Features: "Aesop's Fables" uses simple stories to profoundly summarize many life experiences and moral lessons of people. Its vivid images, lively metaphors, and thought-provoking maxims not only represent the high wisdom of the ancient Greek people but also hold considerable literary value. It is one of the earliest collections of fables in the West, having nurtured famous fable writers such as La Fontaine, Lessing, and Крылов, providing them with rich creative themes. To this day, references from "Aesop's Fables" can still be found in literary works and theoretical writings around the world. Although these fable stories are ancient, they never give a sense of obsolescence. Whether it's men or women, young or old, or people of any cultural background, they can all find some joy or enlightenment in them. This is undoubtedly the charm of "Aesop's Fables."
"The Fables in Verse" also holds high artistic value. La Fontaine excels at weaving in personified and anthropomorphic animal dialogues into his poems, creating a roller-coaster of emotions that is both unique and entertaining. He is also skilled at depicting natural scenery with a lyrical touch. As a result, many of his lines have become proverbs or maxims, widely quoted or frequently applied in daily life. It is said that even today, in France, schools and parents require school-age children to memorize La Fontaine's "The Fables in Verse."
