Features: As part of the "Series on Social Welfare in China," China's Social Welfare for Special Children will play a positive role in promoting the concept of social welfare for special children, advancing practical work in this field, and flourishing academic research on child welfare. It aims to help a broad readership and the entire society better understand and fully recognize the importance of social welfare for special children. The editor-in-chief and all contributors feel a great sense of responsibility for several reasons: First, from an academic perspective, the field of social welfare for special children remains relatively underdeveloped in China, with limited research findings and academic (monographs), and no well-established research framework or system yet formed. Second, the scope of social welfare for special children is extremely wide, encompassing disciplines and practical work such as politics, economics, culture, science and technology, foreign affairs, history, law, welfare, security, education, health, sports, and social work. This presented significant challenges during the writing process. Throughout the entire writing process, the editor-in-chief and all contributors have been cautious and diligent, never daring to relax in the slightest.
