Features: This is a systematic and comprehensive history of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in the 1930s. Based on reference to existing works and a large amount of relevant materials, the book focuses on original telegrams and documents from that time, as well as recent research findings in the field of Party history, to narrate the events with a view to ensuring historical accuracy. It also addresses and clarifies some previously unresolved issues. The decade from the failure of the Great Revolution to the eve of the War of Resistance Against Japan was a crucial period for the Communist Party of China to grow from infancy to political maturity. During this time, the Party underwent two severe tests: the failure of the Great Revolution and the defeat in the fifth anti-"encirclement" campaign. In the unimaginably harsh environment, the Communist Party of China showed unwavering determination, worked diligently, and overcame the darkest moments, miraculously creating a new situation. The history of these ten years proved that dogmatism, which divorces theory from practice and blindly copies foreign experiences, or the practice of directing China's revolution from an international command center far removed from China, were both wrong. Although the Party made "Left" errors in its guiding ideology several times during this decade, it ultimately corrected its mistakes through its own efforts, learned from the lessons, implemented correct lines, policies, and measures, and achieved the transition from the War of Land Revolution to the War of National Resistance Against Japan, advancing the Chinese revolution to a new stage. This is a period of history worth every Communist revisiting and learning from.
