My Shanghai, My Paradise

Features: Delayed in turning on the light, delayed countless memories, your rosy face full of spring, making peach blossoms and plums speak without words, making flowers and grass leave a trace, making even cicadas unable to help but chirp—this is what is called "a love for paradise." Living in Shanghai for over twenty years, Shanghai has always been an endless sight to me. The theme of this collection of essays is Shanghai through my eyes, although this theme had been brewing in my mind for a long time, and the writing process was so emotionally charged. However, when I finally finished writing and read through it, I realized that the word "paradise" alone was not enough to encompass all my thoughts, emotions, breath, and pulse. Because everything about Shanghai is real and concrete, it encompasses my private life, memories, collections, and emotions growing up in Shanghai.
