Will there be scars left on the face after roseola?

Patient's question:

I don't know if it was because I took my child to the countryside a few days ago that I suddenly broke out in a rash, with patches appearing all over my face. After checking at the hospital, the doctor prescribed a lot of medicine for me to take. Now, a few days later, the symptoms seem to be easing. I'm wondering if it will leave scars from the roseola.

Doctor's answer:

Usually, roseola appears after a fever, with the temperature not being particularly high, around 37 to 38 degrees Celsius. The fever typically subsides after 2 to 3 days, followed by the appearance of maculopapular rashes on various parts of the body. These rashes are known as roseola. No special treatment is needed for roseola because it is not itchy, so the baby will not scratch it, and it will not leave scars.
