How to deal with bedwetting at the age of five?

Patient's question:

My child is now 5 years old. Last night, he actually wet the bed. He was already potty trained at night when he was 2 years old, and he hasn't had any bedwetting issues since then. Suddenly doing this, I'm worried there might be a problem. Could you please explain what might be happening?

Doctor's answer:

Like this situation, moms don't need to worry too much. The child may only wet the bed one night, which could be because the child didn't go to the bathroom before going to bed at night, or because they drank too much water before going to bed, leading to bedwetting. Moms can let the child go to the bathroom first before going to bed at night, and make sure not to let the child drink too much water. It's a good idea to observe more if this happens for a continuous period of time. If so, it's recommended to take the child to check for other possible reasons.
