Features: Caring for elderly health is a vast systematic project that requires the support and concern of the whole society. According to the new concept of health proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO), "health is a complete state of physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or weakness." This book argues that true health for the elderly should encompass both physical and mental aspects, advocating not only the interactive coordination of the eight physiological systems within the human body but also the adaptive interaction between the human body and both social and natural environments. Achieving the unity of physiological and psychological health is essential to attain comprehensive, holistic, and overall well-being. The "System Interaction Health" theory fully aligns with WHO's concept of health, as well as the shift in medical models (from the biomedical model to the bio-psycho-social medical model) and traditional Chinese holistic theory. It meets the deeper requirements of modern people in pursuing health and longevity. The main difference between System Interaction Health and general health care lies in its emphasis on subjective initiative, enabling the elderly to follow the four cornerstones of self-care advocated by WHO—reasonable diet, moderate exercise, smoking cessation and alcohol restriction, and psychological balance—to achieve comprehensive well-being. This requires educating the elderly about health knowledge, understanding what constitutes a healthy lifestyle, and learning how to manage interpersonal relationships to adapt to society, while actively improving the natural environment. Therefore, it not only proposes requirements for health but also provides channels and methods for pursuing it, offering guidance for promoting self-care among the elderly. Only by achieving System Interaction Health can one attain true, holistic, and comprehensive well-being, realizing the aspiration of "living to be a hundred without dreams."
