Features: This book records the evil life of Mao Renfeng, the head of the secret police of the Kuomintang. Mao Renfeng was known as the "Smiling Tiger" and the "Mao Advisor." His secret to being an official was patience, waiting, and cruelty. To climb the ladder, he acted like a servile subordinate to his superiors and to Chiang Kai-shek, but he was extremely cruel and ruthless toward the Communist Party members and the people. On the eve of the liberation of the country, he orchestrated the shocking mass killing at Zhaqiusi in Chongqing, the 999 Purge white terror in Kunming, and the bloody assassination plot against the patriotic general Yang Jie in Hong Kong, among other atrocities. This book exposes the treacherous and brutal nature of this veteran spy chief and also reveals, from a side angle, the darkness before the dawn of the new China.
