What is dwarfism?

Patient's question:

Very short stature, the entire body seems to have been proportionally shrunk, shorter than others by a head, looking like a child, but the face looks like an adult.

Doctor's answer:

Short stature refers to a child's height, which is two standard deviations below the average height of children of the same age, or a growth rate of less than five centimeters per year. It is mainly caused by insufficient secretion of growth hormone and may also be related to a family history of short and stout individuals. The diagnosis of this disease requires determining growth hormone levels and conducting growth hormone stimulation tests.
The two branches range between 5 to 10 micrograms, indicating a lack of libido. Below 5 micrograms indicates complete deficiency. If it is less than 5 micrograms, subcutaneous injections of growth hormone are required for the child. Between 5 to 10 micrograms, it can be used based on the child's height.
