Features: The generation born between the 1970s and mid-1980s is defined as the fifth generation. Their most significant difference from the fourth generation is that they grew up in the environment of reform and opening up from a young age, with little memory of traditional constraints. This not only distinguishes them from the fourth generation but also sets them apart from the three preceding generations. If the first four generations were more inheritant, then the fifth generation shows greater heterogeneity with them. The fifth generation embodies the ideal of the new breed of modern Chinese. History has not shaped the fifth generation according to our ideals. As a product of their time, they carry both the fresh air of the era and the confusion and corruption left behind by it. However, since we have placed too high expectations on them, what we see more often are their flaws. At the same time, we seem to lack a clear standard of what they should become in the future, so we still consciously or unconsciously measure them by our old standards, which often leads to disappointment.
