Features: The white-collar group can be identified not only by their consumption of "things" but also by their consumption and production of "culture." The culture they consume is mostly fast-food culture. The culture they produce is generally not imbued with a sense of historical depth. In traditional forms, people either loved, devoted themselves to, cursed, or rejected culture. But apart from the medieval clergy, few groups consumed culture, yet the white-collar group has now started consuming culture according to their own tastes! Moreover, they are also producing culture. Take the popular public media in modern cities as an example—none of them are entirely consumed by the white-collar group, but which one is not produced by them? There are two entirely different views on white-collar culture. One view is that the white-collar group actually does not have any real culture; white-collar people never create culture for society but merely provide it with fragmented pieces of culture. The other view is completely opposite, believing that the fast-food nature of white-collar culture is culture itself.
