Patient's question:
How is varicocele treated? How much does it cost?Doctor's answer:
Varicocele refers to the expansion, tortuosity, and elongation of the pampiniform plexus (vein vascular plexus) of the spermatic cord caused by blood stasis in the spermatic vein. Varicocele can be accompanied by testicular atrophy and impaired sperm development, leading to male infertility. Mild varicocele without symptoms does not require treatment. Non-surgical treatment: For mild varicocele or those accompanied by neurasthenia, measures such as reporting the scrotum and cold compresses can be applied. Surgical treatment: For severe varicocele, cases with a sperm count of approximately 20 million for three consecutive times or with testicular atrophy; or when the dilated veins disappear when lying flat, the spermatic vein (high ligation of the spermatic vein) can be performed.
