Features: These collections cover various aspects of common basic vocabulary: pronunciation, word formation, semantic features, polysemy, synonyms, antonyms, semantic shift, word class conversion, collocation, classification of idioms, and a comparison between British English and American English, among others. Vocabulary and grammar are often difficult to separate entirely, so occasionally, the collections also touch upon grammatical structures, sentence patterns, rhetoric, and translation issues. Except for some content published in English journals, most of it is our insights and experiences from long-term English learning and teaching. Some are preliminary explorations and research findings, but it is certain that many of the problems covered are also those that Chinese learners often find difficult or prone to confusion and misunderstanding.
