Once, the school's science club visited Osborne Company's genetics lab. Peter accidentally got bitten by a spider that escaped, surprisingly gaining superpowers like a spider. From then on, he no longer suffered bullying from classmates and could easily defeat opponents in wrestling matches, earning some money to support his family. After a wrestling match, the arena owner, to avoid paying him, falsely accused Peter of stealing money from the arena. Angered, Peter fled and happened to encounter a shop robber. Disheartened and unwilling to get involved in others' troubles, he let the robber escape easily. Upon returning home, Peter found Uncle Ben murdered by the robber. Overwhelmed with grief, Peter chased and captured the robber, only to realize that it was the same thief he had just let go! The harsh reality made him understand: extraordinary power comes with great responsibility. From then on, he devoted himself to the noble cause of fighting crime. This episode depicts the story of Spider-Man battling the Doctor Octopus.
