What are the symptoms of prostate disease?

Patient's question:

I don't know why I always feel pain when urinating and I can't urinate clearly. I visited two doctors and heard a lot about prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia, but I still don't understand. I would like to ask about the symptoms of prostate diseases.

Doctor's answer:

Due to benign prostatic hyperplasia, increased urethral pressure, and increased urethral resistance, the bladder detrusor muscle must contract excessively to initiate urination. Patients may experience delayed urination, weakness, short urine stream, thin urine flow, and prolonged urination time. If intestinal obstruction worsens, patients must increase abdominal pressure to maintain urination. With the decrease in abdominal pressure, post-void dribbling and other urinary flow interruptions may occur. The bladder detrusor muscle becomes decompensated, leading to bladder residual urine. When the amount of bladder residual urine increases, bladder overdistension may occur again. When pressure increases, stress incontinence may recur. At night, when the pelvic floor muscles relax, urine is more likely to flow, and nocturnal enuresis may occur again.
