Patient's question:
Can varicocele be treated? How is varicocele treated? Is it easy to treat? Thank youDoctor's answer:
Hello:When varicocele occurs, due to blood stasis in the spermatic veins, it can lead to an increase in scrotal temperature, causing the testicular temperature to drop by 1℃ to 2℃. Persistent long-term elevation in temperature can affect sperm production in the testes, resulting in azoospermia and oligozoospermia. The epididymis also helps in the maturation of sperm. This condition is more common in young and middle-aged adults. The incidence of left varicocele is higher. For those with mild or no symptoms, wearing elastic pants or using a scrotal support band can be helpful. For men with more severe symptoms and those with varicocele accompanied by abnormal sperm, surgical treatment should be considered. Currently, surgical treatment is the most direct approach.
