Features: This book is a teaching tutorial for art majors in teacher training universities. Watercolor painting is a mandatory professional course in the discipline of art education at teacher training universities. Within the curriculum structure of art education, it is responsible for teaching color theory, basic training in color modeling, and artistic creation in watercolor painting. The teaching objectives of this course are to cultivate students' color perception, color expression, aesthetic judgment, as well as classroom teaching skills in secondary school art education and professional guidance skills for specialized art education in secondary schools. The teaching content of this tutorial includes: basic theoretical knowledge of watercolor painting, still-life painting in watercolor, landscape painting in watercolor, and figure painting in watercolor, divided into four units. There are two core topics in watercolor learning: the establishment of modeling methods and the establishment of color methods. The methods mentioned here are scientific and applicable to the majority of painters, rather than individual experiences. Establishing methods involves not only learning, researching, and practicing the methods themselves but also engaging in the study and research of related knowledge and topics. For example, the establishment of modeling methods involves related knowledge and topics such as composition, form, anatomy, light and shadow, dynamics, expression, and materials; the establishment of color methods involves related knowledge and topics such as basic color theory, the composition and layout of color, color mixing, and material techniques. Only when both modeling methods and color methods are established can true color modeling be achieved.
