Features: Approximately 120 papers were submitted for this conference. After expert review, 87 papers were selected for inclusion in the proceedings, divided into five topics: "Water Environment Simulation and Application," "Water Environment Mechanism Experiment and Evaluation Methods," "Water Pollution Prevention and Water Resource Protection," "River Health and Ecological Hydraulics," and "World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Supported Projects." The content of this book is extensive, with novel perspectives, and holds high academic value. Environmental hydraulics, by definition, is a product of the intersection between environmental science and hydraulic engineering. It primarily studies hydraulics-related issues concerning environmental protection or environmental protection-related issues in hydraulics. Initially, it was considered a research direction within the fields of hydraulics and river dynamics. Due to the increasing importance of environmental protection, environmental hydraulics has shown vigorous development potential. Related or closely related disciplines include: environmental fluid mechanics, environmental hydrology, ecological hydraulics, habitat hydraulics, and environmental irrigation engineering, among others. From the papers in this conference proceedings, we can also see that the quality of the papers varies, with some lacking sufficient rigor in research and writing. Truly high-level papers are relatively few. In particular, interdisciplinary research is not yet deep or closely integrated, and new disciplinary directions are still in the process of emerging.
