Features: Political Confucianism refers to the Confucianism centered on the Spring and Autumn Annals of Gongyang School in the Han Dynasty, which is concerned with the construction of systems. Unlike New Confucianism, which largely aims at "Xin-xing Confucianism" (Heart-Mind Confucianism), the author, based on a comprehensive understanding of Confucianism, opens up a new research direction for Confucian studies. The author's fundamental concern lies in the in-depth study of Chinese history and culture, the re-examination of China's unique national conditions distinct from the West, and the dedication to uncovering the rich ideological resources in political Confucianism that resonate with modernization, thereby providing a basis for China's political system construction. The author's approach inherits the tradition of Jin-wen classics studies by figures like Gong Zizhen, Wei Yuan, and Kang Youwei from the late Qing Dynasty. The series of perspectives proposed by the author are eye-opening and prompt deeper reflection. The main purpose of this book is to emphasize "Political Confucianism," which, relative to "Xin-xing Confucianism," refers to the political wisdom of the Confucian tradition. From the standpoint of classical Chinese political thought, the book conducts an in-depth critique and analysis of contemporary New Confucianism, the theory of complete Westernization, and liberal political ideas. This kind of research is currently still a blank area in China. The author's analysis and critique are meticulous, and his arguments are original, showing that he has spent years contemplating this topic and has unique insights. Therefore, many of the arguments in this book are meaningful and valuable, and its publication in this series will likely spark further discussion and research.
