Features: To complement the use of the full-time ordinary senior high school textbooks (experimental revised edition), we have specially compiled this comprehensive edition of New High School Classical Chinese Translation and Explanation. Based on the new textbooks and teaching reference materials, this book integrates them into an organic whole. Where the new textbooks and teaching reference materials provide clear explanations, this book directly records and explains them; where they are not clear, this book provides in-depth explanations; where they are not covered, this book supplements the content; where there are disagreements with the new textbooks or teaching reference materials, this book first clarifies its own views and then quotes the perspectives of the new textbooks or teaching reference materials for discussion. When there are contradictions between the new textbooks and teaching reference materials, they are combined where possible. If they cannot be combined, the new textbooks take precedence, but the views of the teaching reference materials are also quoted; the reverse is also true. This book consists of two main parts: "Text Translation and Explanation" and "Unit Knowledge Classification." Each text translation and explanation in the book includes three sections: "Title Explanation," "Author (or Work) Introduction," and "Translation and Explanation." The title explanation includes interpretations of the text title and historical background, while the author (or work) introduction focuses on introducing the author's thoughts and the historical value of the work. The translation and explanation is the key part of the text, featuring translation, annotations, and comments. The translation strictly aligns the lower-line translation with the upper-line original text. In the text, the "⊙" before the parentheses indicates annotations, while the "⊙" after it indicates comments. Please note that we hold a negative attitude toward annotations in the small parentheses. The "Unit Knowledge Classification" summarizes and generalizes the homophones, homographs, word-class conversion, synonymous compound words, partial-meaning compound words, polysemy, fixed structures, sentence patterns, idioms and allusions, famous lines from poems and prose, and rhetorical devices of the unit, facilitating students' learning and review. This book emphasizes the explanation of classical Chinese grammar and syntax, as well as the structure, content, and writing characteristics of the text, striving to enable readers unfamiliar with classical Chinese to learn how to translate classical Chinese and understand the high school classical Chinese curriculum after reading it. The book also incorporates new research findings, draws on the strengths of various schools of thought, and strictly ensures the translation, successfully addressing challenges such as subject-verb inversion, object-predicate inversion, attributive postposition, prepositional structures (prepositional phrases) as complements, and the translation of poems and lyrics. It saves teachers a significant amount of preparation time, allowing students to easily master high school classical Chinese with minimal guidance. Self-learners with this book can teach themselves with ease.
