Features: Researching the history of teaching method reform will reveal that China has a long tradition of experimenting with teaching methods. The modern teaching method reform experiments in China mainly drew on Western influences, starting late and lasting a short period. Existing related research, due to various reasons, has failed to conduct in-depth historical examinations of teaching methods, which is a deficiency in the study of educational history and the history of teaching theory. This book is divided into three parts—upper, middle, and lower—for its content. The upper part traces the evolution of our teaching methods in the 20th century, focusing on a historical analysis of the reform and experiments of our teaching methods in the 1920s and 1930s. The middle part reviews and analyzes the reform and experiments of our teaching methods since the 1980s. The lower part primarily explores several theoretical issues related to the transformation of teaching methods. Looking back at the various reforms in history, the early stages often involved bold exploration and a burst of diversity, followed by the need for theoretical synthesis and refinement to ensure the reform progresses along a more sound and healthy track. The reform of teaching methods is no exception. Currently, in addition to continuing bold exploration in practice, theoretical summarization and improvement are also necessary.
