Features: This book is the result of the 2004 annual institutional research project of Beijing Police College and serves as a textbook on the history of Chinese police administration for undergraduate public security majors. During the writing process, President Teng Jian of Beijing Police College paid close attention to the project. Originally, the book was intended to be titled The History of Chinese Police. However, during the research process, the research team found that the topics covered in the book—such as public security issues, police operational philosophy, and police administrative measures—go far beyond what The History of Chinese Police could encompass, hence the current title. Writing a history of Chinese police administration is a first in the country. Many of the topics covered in this book are still considered preliminary research at this stage.
