Author: Gan Zhimao Ma Yaofeng
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2000-09-20
Features: This book is based on the definition of 13 compulsory courses for the Tourism Management major in the newly compiled and published "Directory and Introduction of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Universities" by the Ministry of Education. It is also the crystallization of the authors' decades of teaching and research in tourism. The authors attempt to highlight the following features in this book: 1. Emphasize the sequence and completeness of tourism resources to clarify the unordered or unreasonable classification of tourism resources, especially cultural tourism resources. 2. Except for the chapters "Introduction" and "Tourism Resource Classification," the book is structured into three clear sections: natural tourism resources, cultural tourism resources, and tourism resource development, avoiding the shortcomings of overemphasizing natural resources while neglecting cultural resources or focusing solely on resources while ignoring development. 3. Highlight the theoretical elaboration, attractive factors, tourism functions, and aesthetic appreciation of tourism resources to prevent or reduce repetition with the content of tourism geography and China's tourism geography courses. 4. Emphasize macro and meso-level development directions and models in tourism resource development, avoiding micro-level tourism planning to prevent repetition with the content of tourism planning courses. 5. In addition to integrating practical examples as much as possible in the analysis and discussion of each chapter, empirical case studies are throughout most chapters to strengthen the combination of theory and practice.
