Patient's question:
He's already been a baby for almost three months. It's been particularly troublesome to feed him, as he hardly suckles the milk himself. He rarely moves, and whatever you do, he does the same. He doesn't cry or fuss much, and it feels like his eyes lack vitality. He often stares at the same spot without moving. He hasn't been to the hospital for any check-ups.Doctor's answer:
The manifestations of cerebral palsy can be divided into several types.1. The catatonic type primarily manifests as stiffness in the limbs.
2. Involuntary movements of the limbs and head, as well as involuntary movements during purposeful actions, such as the appearance of "brown eyebrows" on the face, difficulty speaking and swallowing, and frequent drooling.
3. The ataxic type is characterized by muscle weakness in the limbs, an inability to maintain balance, unsteady gait, and incomplete fine motor control (e.g., at the fingertips and nose). Simple ataxia is less common. Ataxia can also be associated with movements of the hands and feet. Children often cannot maintain fixed postures and must frequently adjust themselves to stay upright when standing. They learn to walk later than normal children.
